- Cellular uptake mechanisms of a diselenide-based ROS-responsive nanocarrier in oxidatively stressed colon cells. Liang, Wanqi Li, Dong Hao, Jinheng Dai, Wenli Zhang, Bo-Bo Yang, Qiongqiong Reactive Oxygen Species Humans Oxidative Stress Drug Carriers Colon Nanoparticles Organoselenium Compounds Endocytosis Selenium Compounds Here, we demonstrate that a diselenide-based ROS-responsive nanocarrier exhibits a highly sensitive response to ROS and excellent ROS scavenging activity. Mechanism studies indicate that it can be efficiently taken up by oxidatively stressed colon cells through folate receptor-mediated endocytosis, underscoring its potential for targeted drug delivery in treating colon diseases.
