- Cacomalides A-G, Manoalide-Related Sesterterpenes With Anti-Inflammatory Activities From the Marine Sponge Cacosponges sp. Zhang, Wenjie Chen, Yu Geng, Jianing Luo, Xiangchao Li, Xiaobin Tang, Xuli Han, Xiao Li, Guoqiang Animals Porifera Zebrafish Sesterterpenes Anti-Inflammatory Agents Molecular Structure Terpenes Structure-Activity Relationship Molecular Conformation Lipopolysaccharides Seven previously undescribed manoalide-related sesterterpenes, named cacomalides A-G (1-7), were isolated from the marine sponge Cacosponges sp. collected in the South China Sea. The planar structures and absolute configurations of these compounds are unambiguously determined through comprehensive methods, including high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry analysis, one-dimensional and two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data analysis, empirical rules of proton (H) and carbon-13 (C) NMR shifts, DP4+ analysis, and electronic circular dichroism spectra. The activity testing of the compounds using zebrafish models and cacomalide A (1) exhibited anti-inflammatory activity.
