contents A high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of a feather star Glyptometra sp. from a deep seamount. Wang, Jing Sun, Shao'e Mei, Zijie Sha, Zhongli Chen, Nansheng Animals Genome Chromosomes China Feather stars are an important group for studying the evolution and environmental adaptability. However, the absence of a high-quality feather star genome from deep sea has hindered a thorough understanding of their adaptive evolution. In this study, we reported the first chromosome-level genome assembly of Glyptometra sp. from a deep seamount, Zhenbei seamount, in South China Sea. The Glyptometra sp. CNS01629 genome assembly has a total length of 1.14 Gb with a contig N50 length of 19.0 Mb and a scaffold N50 length of 84.75 Mb, encompassing 13 chromosomes, highlighting high genome continuity. Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs (BUSCO) assessment yielded a completeness estimate of 98.1% for this assembly. We predicted a total of 20,814 protein coding genes (PCGs), with 20,309 functionally annotated. The availability of this high-quality chromosome-level genome of Glyptometra sp. CNS01629 contributes to our understanding of the origin and evolution of crinoids.
