The basic question which guides this work is as follows: What are the implications of the electronic/automotive technological convergence on the number, space and hierarchical distribution of suppliers? This technological convergence reevaluates the old electrical functions (both the old suppliers of developed electrical parts and the harness suppliers) and insert them in a new technological hierarchy with more intense interactions between harness suppliers, that is, between electronic/electrical auto parts sector maquiladora plants and automotive companies.
