From a sample of 96 testaments taken from the community of Ures District, in Sonora, from the 1862-1902 period, it was possible to underline some aspects of the various succession patterns used by testators and testatrixes, their relationships within and outside the family, their affection and indifference feelings, as well as to emphasize the economic role played by Ures women as single and married women, and widows.
