  • Latin American Culture and the Challenge of Globalization Victor Armony Paul Lamy Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) Culture Globalization Latin America Regional cultures Cultaral hybridation This article deals with the cultural impact of globalization on Latin American culture. We describe the globalization processes which are bringing about profound changes in the cultural experience of Latin Americans, even in the most traditional communities. We warn that it must not be concluded too hastily that Americanized standards now tend to prevail everywhere or that local cultural patterns are disappearing or are bound to do so in the short or long term. Even though globalization increases interdependence and interconnectedness across national boundaries, we argue that these processes may give rise to a growing hybridization and heterogeneity within national and regional cultures. 1999 artículo científico 1405-0269 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=10401603 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=104 CIENCIA ergo-sum, Revista Científica Multidisciplinaria de Prospectiva application/pdf Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México CIENCIA ergo-sum, Revista Científica Multidisciplinaria de Prospectiva (México) Num.3 Vol.6
