I: Población de adultos y algunas características del hábitat Fernando Zavala Chávez Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) Habitat Male trees Female trees Taxus globosa Scarse species The preliminary evaluation of the adult population of "Taxus globosa" entails an analysis of the number of adult individuals, some of their dasometrical characteristics, and data about their habitat. The species was found in fir, fir-oak and oak forests; mostly near the bottom of ravines, at an altitude between 2,530 and 2,710 meters above sea level, in slightly acid soil. The number of adults examined was 75, with an average height of 4.5 to 1.6 meters and a near-the-base diameter of 28.6 to 22 centimeters. The ratio of male to female trees was 1 to 1.3. Almost 23 percent of the adults examined had hollow stems, which could explain their susceptibility to being uprooted by the wind.
