A detailed description of an effective program thatfosters autonomy, social inclusion and high quality of life inpeople with intellectual disability is presented. The programencompasses four areas: a) a therapeutic academic area thatteaches applied living skills; b) development of social skills; c)development of vocational skills, and d) skills for independentliving.
