The aim of this paper is to characterize the types of coalitions and their competitiveness in subnational gubernatorial elections. It uses data from the National Civil Registry, party statements issued in accordance with the opposition statute filed before the National Electoral Council, and the classification criteria proposed by Uribe, et al. (2022). This study contributes to the emerging literature on coalitions, subnational elections and gubernatorial elections in Colombia.
