Razones del cambio en las elecciones presidenciales en el estado de México, 1999 Carlos Alberto Sara Gutiérrez Javier Arzuaga Magnoni Economía y Finanzas elections Mexico state political parties The paper takes up again a hypothesis previously presented, and the way itwas refuted by the facts on July 2nd, 2000, when the federal presidentialelections took place. In that previous paper it was stated that the divisionof the electoral offer in three choices ñin the governor elections in Mexicostate in 1999 favored the triumph of the Institutional Revolutionary Partyas it fragmented the opposition vote and allowed this party to rest on itshard vote in order to win the elections. As a consequence of the new electoralscenario, this paper presents a complementary hypothesis to the onethat suggests that in spite of the failure in articulating a big oppositionalliance, this was actually articulated by the electorate. From a spatialanalysis of the electorate the aim is observing if a transference of votesfrom the opposition to the option that was believed capable of defeatingthe ruling party actually took place. 2002 artículo científico 1405-8421 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=11101104 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=111 Economía, Sociedad y Territorio application/pdf El Colegio Mexiquense, A.C.
