- Inequitable distribution of green public space in the Mexico City: an environmental injustice case Rafael Fernández-Álvarez Economía y Finanzas Mexico City Green Public Space Environmental Justice Environmental Social Scienc This article presents an analysis of the distribution of green public spaces (GPS) in Mexico City as an urban environmental injustice case. Using spatial and demographic data, a Park Need Index (PNI) was calculated for the 16 boroughs of the city. Results show that distribution of GPS is directly correlated with demographic features usually present within low socioeconomic sectors of the city. Such findings align with the Environmental Justice Theory postulation that urban environmental amenities are inequitably distributed against marginal populations. 2017 artículo científico 1405-8421 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=11150592006 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/111/11150592006/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/111/11150592006/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/111/11150592006/11150592006.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/111/11150592006/movil en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=111 Economía, Sociedad y Territorio application/pdf El Colegio Mexiquense, A.C.
