Ingeniería Some considerations about the requirements of Metrology in mineral transportation equipments are presented. It isstated that these measures should be taken considering international standards, and qualified personnel. Nevertheless,one local entity measured vital repaired components and certified them as ?parts that fulfilled the quality requirements?without having the appropriate measuring equipment. As a means of comparison, international standards as well asother ones from countries belonging to the European Union have been employed. It is demonstrated that the outcomesobtained by the certifying entity are incorrect and impossible to reach with the means previously mentioned. As aconclusion, such certifications become fraudulent and lack validity. Since security and transport regulations have notbeen respected, both people and equipment duration have been put at a risk.
