Ingeniería The development of professional competence in the engineers of modern times is of paramount importance due to the changes which have taken place in the social context where engineers develop the profession.The article autlines a model of professional competence for the Latin American engineer which was adopted fromJacques Delor?s model. It states four big spheres in the training of engineers; to learn how to know, to learn how to do,to learn how to live together, and to learn how to be.
