- Globalización y multiculturalidad. Pueblos indígenas y medio ambiente en la Amazonia Sergio Villena Sociología This paper is a theoretical proposal aimed at analyzing the challenges, threats, menaces and opportunities posed by globalization upon indigenous peoples in the context of a specific global situation: environmental preservation. The problem is approached focusing on three conflicts characteristic of globalization: a) the relation between global and local, b) the problem of civilizing alternatives, and c) the new dynamics of social exclusion/inclusion. These conflicts, once theorized, are used to analyze the convergence of indigenous demands on territoriality, identity and citizenship, with spatial, development and sustainability dimensions surrounding environmental management in a specific case: strategies which have been developed by Amazonian indigenous peoples. 2000 artículo científico 0188-7653 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=11501705 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=115 Perfiles Latinoamericanos application/pdf Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales Perfiles Latinoamericanos (México) Num.17
