contents Inseguridad y violencia en el marco del control social Juan S. Pegoraro Sociología violence Social control insecurity paradigm This article presents certain indicatorsthat are relevant to justifying a description ofnew forms of social control in accordance withthe macro changes that have been occurring insocial life beginning with the restructuring of thecapitalist world in the 70s and 80s. We refer tothe restructuring that occurred in diverseproductive areas or places, and which towardsthe end of the 70s, after the so-called “gloriousthirty years” became a truly neo-conservativecounter-revolution, especially in relation to thecapital/labor relation. As we know this impliesthat social control mechanisms should be inaccord with this relationship. One of the firstconsequences was the restructuring of the role ofthe state and its relation with society (socialorder), and of the welfare state model. Itsprinciple characteristic is the inversion of thesecurity paradigm, and together with this themoment in which new practical strategies aredesigned and new social control strategies are putinto practice. The idea is that in relation to this“security paradigm” which regulated theconstruction of a society based on the politicalstate welfare philosophy, the changes we areundergoing are produced. What is constructed isa new paradigm that governs in parallel withneo-liberal market model: “the paradigm ofinsecurity”. 2001 artículo científico 1315-0006 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=12210302 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=122 Espacio Abierto application/pdf Universidad del Zulia Espacio Abierto (República Bolivariana de Venezuela) Num.3 Vol.10
