| contents | Trois palmiers pour trois capitales amazoniennes Farana Moussa Francis Kahn Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) THREE PALMS FOR THREE AMAZONIAN CAPITAL CITIES. Each of the three Amazonian capital cities has its favorite palm: Euterpe oleracea for Belém, Astrocaryum aculeatum for Manaus, and Mauritia flexuosa for Iquitos. While the former species is abundant near Belém and absent from the other regions, Astrocaryum aculeatum has been propagated in the region of Manaus, and Mauritia flexuosa, which is found throughout the Amazon basin, has met with success only in Peruvian Amazonia. These cases illustrate that cultural differences between Amazonian regions may hinder the optimal exploitation of potential resources. 1997 artículo científico 0303-7495 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=12626101 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=126 Bulletin de l'Institut français d'études andines application/pdf Instituto Francés de Estudios Andinos Bulletin de l'Institut français d'études andines (Perú) Num.1 Vol.26 |
