contents Panorama archéologique des zones méridionales de Bolivie (sud-est de Potosí) Patrice Lecoq Ricardo Céspedes Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) ARCHAEOLOGICAL PANORAMA OF THE MERIDIONAL AREAS OF BOLIVIA (SOUTH-EAST OF POTOSÍ). This paper illustrates the nature of the Prehispanic occupation of the southeastern area of Potosí from the Preceramic period until the Spanish conquest. After describing some of the previous work in this area by other authors, this study describes the main settlement pattern and ceramic artifacts of each period, focusing mainly on the Middle Horizon and the Late Intermediate Period. The article traces the expansion and fall of the Tiwanaku civilization, and also tries to understand the process of the formation and evolution of the Charcas-Karakara federation. This subject is well documented by the Colonial historical sources, and confrontation between the ethnohistorical records and archaeological data helps start a discussion of the validity of theses sources. 1997 artículo científico 0303-7495 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=12626103 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=126 Bulletin de l'Institut français d'études andines application/pdf Instituto Francés de Estudios Andinos Bulletin de l'Institut français d'études andines (Perú) Num.1 Vol.26
