Una situación estratégica para el estudio del fenómeno El Niño Gustavo Gómez Pierre Pourrut Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) In spite of having access to computer technologies and planetary observation systems with a high degree of accuracy and reliability to register in real time the celerity of the evolution of the phenomena (mainly oceanographic and climatic) all international efforts to design and calibrate an universal  El Niño model have not been successful yet. The proposed criteria is that studies on El Niño cannot be bounded to the ocean-atmosphere interactions but to the in situ survey of dynamic aspects that come together with El Niño to the South American Continent in its central part.
