- La Virgen de La Dolorosa y la lucha por el control de la socialización de las nuevas generaciones en el Ecuador del 1900 Gioconda Herrera Multidisciplinarias (Ciencias Sociales) This is a study on the emergence of the devotion to the Virgin of Sorrows in 1906 in Ecuador in the midst of the battle between liberals and conservative over laic education and the disestablishment of the Church. The main argument conveyed is that the devotion is not the product of a spontaneous reaction of a Church in crisis but rather the result of a gradual process of institutional transformation that began before the insaturation of a liberal regime. It was geared to secure the Church control over the socialization process of the following generations.
