| contents | Applications and consent terms: a study on the digital behavior of Brazilians in the pandemic Fernando Vianna Jurandir Peinado Juliana da Rosa Maia Ressete Vianna Leonardo Tonon Francis K. Meneghetti Administración y Contabilidad pandemic Applications consent terms data colonialism digital behavior The digital context and its controversies analyzed by disciplines that deal with technology and society, gained academic importance in the area of Administration. Thus, this article sought to analyze the behavior of individuals facing the capture, processing and sharing of data during the pandemic, through the lens of a new model of colonialism: data colonialism. Therefore, we developed a survey from March to May 2020, with 516 respondents, with different levels of education and age groups. Results indicated an increase in the consumption of communication and entertainment applications, and a reduction in the use of transport and hosting applications. In addition, 37% of respondents do not believe that their data is used ethically by organizations, and users who read the consent form the least are those with the highest levels of education. Such facts characterize the opacity of algorithmic systems, contributing to the sedimentation of data colonialism. 2023 artículo científico 1808-5792 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=133475552016 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1334/133475552016/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1334/133475552016/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1334/133475552016/133475552016.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1334/133475552016/movil en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=1334 Gestão & Regionalidade application/pdf Universidade Municipal de São Caetano do Sul Gestão & Regionalidade (Brasil) Vol.39 |
