- Family and education: a vision for the future from the perspective of Alvin Toffler William Daros Psicología future Third Wave postmodernity learn to learn Family education While education was until the twentieth century focused on knowledge of the ancient past, in the XXI century it seems to be that what is required is to look at the future. Toffler taking a pragmatic socio-psychological thesis suggests that the cause that explains who we are and our future is in the “social character”. The current insolvency of education and family is part of the general crisis industrialism and the collapse of all institutions raised by modernity; Toffler provides for new forms of households and educational processes. Postmodernism-or universal cultural Third Wave- brings itself new values, rights and interests that require that education is no longer set in ancient times, but in the future, so the critics as anachronistic way to educate exercised under the model factory. Despite all the rhetoric about the future, our schools look back, into a dying system, rather than forward, where the new society is. All their energies tend to form the “industrial man”, a man prepared to survive in a system that will die before him. The technology of tomorrow requires no million slightly educated, able to work together in infinitely repeated tasks men; men not to accept orders without blinking; but able men of critical thinking, to break into new media, new relationships quickly get a reality subject to rapid changes.
