For its study, gender theories have been implemented mainly from a unidirectional perspective of violence, in which the man is the aggressor and the woman is the victim. Consequently, this work approaches the study, from the social learning theories starting from the possible repetition of violent conducts observed in the relationship of the parents and the perpetration or reception of violent behaviors in the relationship of young Mexican couples. Participants were 197 women and 157 young men, aged between 15 and 18 years old (M = 16.41, DT = .99) who answered both a questionnaire that included the Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS, Straus, 1979), in order to evaluate the observation of violent behaviors among parents (father and mother) and the modified Conflict Solution Tactics questionnaire (M-CTS, Muñoz, Andreu, Graña, O'Leary & González, 2007) to identify the exercise or violece reception in their eggagement. Among the results, the low occurrence of violence committed both among the parents and within the engagement stands out, highlighting the possible bidirectional character of violence. The relationship between the violence observed among parents and the violence exercised or suffered by the participants in their corresponding relationships was confirmed. The outcomes and the possible implications from the perspective of the violence social learning are discussed, taking into account the possible bidirectional character of the violent behaviors in adolescents’ engagement. 2017 artículo científico 1909-8391 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=139057282002 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1390/139057282002/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1390/139057282002/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1390/139057282002/139057282002.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1390/139057282002/movil es http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=1390 Tesis Psicológica application/pdf Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores Tesis Psicológica (Colombia) Num.1 Vol.12 |
