In this article we analyse a number ofthese texts found in the BoletÌn de la Soc iedad Mexican a de Geog rafÌay EstadÌstica, the first scientific journal published in MÈxico at thattime. The article reports on research into documental sources. Anepistomological analysis is made in order to begin to understand thetypes of conceptual constructions, underlying logic and descriptionsused at that time which shaped their concept of education.
