For thousands of years man has manipulated plantsanimals and the like, through selection breeding enhancement etc. into producing moreproductive plants and animals. However if we mention the word biotechnology we seem toraise an eyebrow. And no one seems to understand why. Most Americans (at least 75%) haveat least heard something about biotechnology but don t quite have a full grasp of what it isexactly.In recent years, foods produced with modern biotechnology seem to be raising many concerns,particularly the bio engineered crops. For all the promises that agriculture biotechnologyoffers it poses as many questions.
