He (She) must know the business major factors such as human resourceavailable capitol and the rancher s perspective of his ranch business objectives that account forits profitability competitiveness efficiency and flexibility. A major component of the ranchsuccessful operative is the owner s resistance to change. To counteract this attitude theconsultant must lay a strong trust relationship with the rancher thoroughly actions that reflecthonesty integrity and frankness. Then a rancher s resistance to change becomes the majorobstacle to the ranch development for he assumes that practices learned and transmitted formsgeneration to generation are the best.
