contents Los ropajes de lo insólito. Dualidad de las cosmovisiones e ideas del "Poder" en tres mitos Tomaraxo Edgardo Jorge Cordeu Antropología A semantic analysis of Tomaraxo tree myths from the Boreal Chaco shows that theIndian concept of power (wózosh) is different from the dynamist (manist) conception commonlyapplied to these notions. Over and beyond the emphasis on the rarity and vastness characterising themanist description of power, the myths discourse centres on eliciting the meaning peculiar to eachand their role in repairing the cosmic economy, marked by fallibility, incompleteness and Evil.Taking into account that both conceptions respond to two different universally widespread patternsdefined as active and speculative, the author studies in the first place the composition and intraarticulation of both prototypes. Secondly, he examines the permanent and contradictory coexistenceof these prototypes in intellectual Western history, their incidence in the theoretical construction ofthe social sciences’ tools involving the power categories used by Ethnology. 1998 artículo científico 0325-6669 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=14802001 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=148 Scripta Ethnologica application/pdf Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) Scripta Ethnologica (Argentina) Vol.XX
