- Resurgimiento religioso, el caso de Mons. Novak y la iglesia de Quilmes durante la dictadura militar (1976-1983) Rodolfo Luis Brardinelli Antropología During the painful years of the military dictatorship from 1976 up to 1983, the Argentinepeople were sorely afflicted by their Government. At the time, the priest, Jorge Novak, very recentlyappointed Catholic Bishop of Quilmes, devoted most of his time and pastoral efforts to providingmoral support and material assistance to the families of the desaparecidos (missing persons) andto those who were held at the Disposal of the Executive. To carry out this momentous task he joined efforts with leaders of other religions. This situation sethim clearly apart from the overwhelming majority of Argentine bishops who chose either complicityor silence. His attitude won him recognition in vast sections of society and transformed him into asocial landmark of religious activity, a status he retains to this day. This phenomenon is related toconsiderations concerning the rebirth of religious expression that authors such as Jacques Derridaand Gianni Vattimo are effecting twenty-five years after the aforementioned events took place. Inthis setting, Novaks figure seems to arise in the shape of an interesting alternative as a possiblemodel for religiousness in times to come. 1998 artículo científico 0325-6669 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=14802003 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=148 Scripta Ethnologica application/pdf Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) Scripta Ethnologica (Argentina) Vol.XX
