Reflexiones sobre la gobernabilidad de la migración internacional en América Latina. Jorge Martínez Demografía Europe governance globalization Latin America international migration This article reflects on international migratory movements in Latin America by exploring the challengesconfronting its multilateral governance in the context of the contradictions brought about by globalization.The article presents the evolution of these migratory movements in order to show that they are part of thehistory of nations rather than an "invention" of globalization, emphasizing the tensions between the exerciseof sovereignty and, on one hand, market forces and, on the other, the forces of humanitarianism.
