contents Borderplex Population Modeling Thomas M. Fullerton Martha Patricia Barraza de Demografía population Border region Ciudad Juárez applied econometrics international migration Numerous studies have examined international migratory trends. Many of them haveanalyzed migratory fl ows from Mexico to the United States. A substantial body of workhas also looked at the various ways in which border-region demographics differ fromdemographics associated with the nations that lie adjacent to each other. Although theresearch to date is very useful, one problem that currently hampers analyses of border-regionpopulation economics between Mexico and the United States is the general absence of timeseries data on the breakdowns between international and domestic migration fl ows at themetropolitan level. This article is designed to partially address this gap by developing newmigration data estimates for Ciudad Juárez. It also reviews how cross-border metropolitanarea migratory fl ows might be jointly modeled, utilizing the 215-equation University ofTexas at El Paso (UTEP) borderplex econometric forecasting model as the basic frameworkfor developing such a system 2008 artículo científico 1665-8906 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=15140305 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=151 Migraciones Internacionales application/pdf El Colegio de la Frontera Norte Migraciones Internacionales (México) Num.3 Vol.4
