contents Socio-Economic Trajectory and Geographical Mobility of Lebanese and Koreans. From Motul to Mérida Claudia DÁVILA VALDÉS Demografía Motul Yucatán migration social capital social networks Through the theories on migration that consider social networks and social capi-tal, this paper compares the socioeconomic trajectories and geographic mobility of Korean and Lebanese migrants and their descendants who once lived in the town of Motul, Yucatán (Mexico). This analysis sheds light on the reasons for the sharply different paths taken by two of the most representative migrations in Yucatán in the early 20th century. It describes the organization of a Lebanese community with a strong sense of identity and economic power in comparison with a dispersed Korean migration that failed to establish strategies of solidarity and mutual support to guar-antee the same success as that of the Lebanese. 2015 artículo científico 1665-8906 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=15141190004 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=151 Migraciones Internacionales application/pdf El Colegio de la Frontera Norte Migraciones Internacionales (México) Num.2 Vol.8
