contents Fortalecimiento de tendencias delegativas en la democracia venezolana durante la Revolución Bolivariana José Guillermo García Chourio Luis J. González Oquendo Estudios Culturales accountability authoritarianism Delegative democracy Bolivarian Revolution political personalization The 1998 election of Hugo Chávez as President of Venezuela marked the beginning of a new phenomenon regarding political personalization in the old Venezuelan democracy. Besides being an outsider, Chávez has governed with a certain authoritarian shade, always using a concept of discourse radically opposed to the market economy. However, beyond revisiting the above mentioned elements to the level of functioning of the government, the purpose of this article was to describe, from the optics of the functioning of the democratic regime, some of the principal indicators that show the delegative tendency, which has acquired the Venezuelan democracy as a structural character from the governments of Chávez. In this respect, it has been observed that the use of delegative strategies of government has, more and more, spoiled the weak checks and balances of State, from an institutional point of view. Nevertheless, it not has managed, up to this moment, to spoil the basic procedural nucleus of the polyarchical game existing in Venezuela. 2009 artículo científico 1600-0110 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=16212429009 es http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=162 Diálogos Latinoamericanos application/pdf Aarhus Universitet Diálogos Latinoamericanos (Dinamarca) Num.16
