Nevertheless, there are certain events that demand the speedy adoption of a standpoint from the newspaper as a social institution. This article analyzes the case of editorials published by the leading Spanish newspapers on the 12th September 2001, following the terrorist attack against the United States, and studies the specificities of this journalistic genre.
