Thispaper describes research aimed at solving these problems by proposing that aMental Model is a dynamic representation created in WM by combininginformation stored in LTM (the Conceptual Model of the system) andcharacteristics extracted from the environment. Three experiments testedhypotheses derived from this proposal.
