| contents | Categorical and order information in free recall of action phrases johannes Engellkamp Hubert Zimmer Psicología Enactment effect item and relational information generaterecognise models of free recall Starting from the generate-recognise model of free recall, we will beaddressing two points. First, we will discuss whether the enactment effect,i.e. better memory of self-performed actions (SPTs) compared to watchedexperimenter-performed actions (EPT) and to verbal tasks (VT) is due toenhanced relational and/or item information of SPTs. Second, we willpropose that at least two different types of relational information must bedistinguished: categorical and episodic (order) information. We willdemonstrate (a) that categorical relational information is used equally inSPTs, EPTs and VTs, (b) that episodic relational information is moreefficient in pure EPT than in pure SPT conditions, (c) that this advantage islost when the two encoding conditions are mixed, and (d) that episodicrelational information can be effectively used with short but not with longlists. This variability of episodic relational information determines whetherSPT shows higher memory performances than EPT. Finally, we concludethat the SPT effect is based on item information because the SPT advantageis observed even though relational information is not enhanced. 2001 artículo científico 0211-2159 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=16922105 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=169 Psicológica application/pdf Universitat de València Psicológica (España) Num.1 Vol.22 |
