contents The locus of semantic interference in picture naming M. Carmen Puerta-Melguizo M. Teresa Bajo Pedro Macizo Psicología Masked priming was used to study the locus of the semantic interferenceeffect. This effect was studied by varying the nature of the task (naming andgender decision) and the type of prime-target relation (semantic andphonological). The time of presentation of the prime was also varied. Results indicated that semantic interference appears in naming (Experiment1) and gender decision (Experiment 2) when the time of presentation of theprime was 100 ms. This replicates results by others and extends them togender decision. In contrast, phonological facilitation was not present ingender decision (Experiment 3). This pattern suggests that semanticinterference is the result of processes occurring at the lemma level and thatgender decision is not influenced by phonological activation. 2003 artículo científico 0211-2159 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=16924103 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=169 Psicológica application/pdf Universitat de València Psicológica (España) Num.1 Vol.24
