contents Intravenous cocaine priming reinstates cocaine-induced conditioned place preference Andrés S. Lombas Kevin B. Freeman Peter G. Roma Anthony L. Riley Psicología Separate groups of rats underwent an unbiased conditioned place preference(CPP) procedure involving alternate pairings of distinct environments withintravenous (IV) injections of cocaine (.75 mg/kg) or saline immediately or15 min after injection. A subsequent extinction phase consisted of exposureto both conditioning environments preceded by saline injection (Ext). Finally, an IV priming injection of cocaine was administered to reinstate theextinguished place preference (Rein). Time spent in the cocaine-pairedchamber significantly increased from Pre-test to CPP, decreased from CPPto Ext and increased from Ext to Rein. The temporal delay had nosignificant effect on performance across all phases of the study. This studyconfirms previous studies of reinstatement and extends the route ofadministration under which reinstatement can be demonstrated byreplicating the phenomenon with IV drug administration. 2007 artículo científico 0211-2159 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=16928103 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=169 Psicológica application/pdf Universitat de València Psicológica (España) Num.1 Vol.28
