- Simulación de plantas de procesamiento de minerales a través de MODSIM® Moisés Oswaldo Bustamante-Rúa Alan José Daza-Aragón Pablo Bustamante-Baena Manuel Julián Barros-Daza Ciencias de la Tierra coal plants kaolin MODSIM® Software The aim of this study was the analysis of two particular scenarios of the mining industry such as kaolin and coal, to determine the usefulness of MODSIM® software in the simulation of mining-metallurgical processing plants. To do this, started from some review of the literature and information obtained as a result of the trips were made to mines that were studied. Among the results, it was clear that the use of this software provides great advantages in learning efficiency in plants mineral processing, as was observed in the batteries of hydrocyclones for separation of kaolin where some problems arise in this operation; while in the specific coal washing process, a good separation is achieved.
