Materials and Method: Based on the previous studies, 40 patients were selected based on the protocol for evaluation tools of temporomandibular disorders. All subjects were exposed to LLLT in 6 sessions (λ=810 nm, power output: 0.6-watt, application time: 60 s, dose: 4 J/cm2). Results: The data analysis determined that pain intensity, the number of tender points, joint sound, the maximum mouth opening, the maximal pain-free, and finally right and left lateral movements reduced during a 6-month therapy. The t-test analysis showed that the measured changes were significant statistically after first session (p<0.05). Additionally, ANOVA results proved the significant changes during the first month of therapy, but after that, all measured parameters did not vary significantly (p>0.05). Conclusion: The low-level laser therapy can induce some improvement in the pain intensity, the number of tender points, joint sound, the maximum mouth opening, the maximal pain-free, and also right and left lateral movements during one-month treatment. Therefore, it is concluded that LLLT is a beneficial alternative option for controlling the temporomandibular disorders appropriately. 2020 artículo científico 1856-4550 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=170265474011 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1702/170265474011/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1702/170265474011/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1702/170265474011/170265474011.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1702/170265474011/movil https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4074408 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=1702 Revista Latinoamericana de Hipertensión application/pdf Sociedad Latinoamericana de Hipertensión Revista Latinoamericana de Hipertensión (República Bolivariana de Venezuela) Num.2 Vol.15
