contents LA FORMACIÓN PRÁCTICA EN ENFERMERÍA. OPINIÓN DE ALUMNOS Y PROFESIONALES ASISTENCIALES. UN ESTUDIO CUALITATIVO CON GRUPOS DE DISCUSIÓN Almudena Alameda Cuesta Carmen Albéniz Lizarraga Cristina Pérez Andrés Salud Nurses Nursing nursing Schools Anxiety The Opinion of Nursing Students andProfessionals Concerning NursingTraining in the Community of Madrid,Spain: A Discussion Groups StudyBackground: In the nursing schools, the contrast betweenwhat is taught in the classrooms and what is practiced at thehealth care centers usually creates a great deal of confusion onthe part of the students. The objective of this research is to ascertainthe opinion of the students and of the professionals atthe health care centers where they are doing their training withregard thereto in order to detect their problems and see whatdifferences exist between primary and specialized care. Methods: This research was conducted throughout the firsthalf of 2000 employing qualitative methodology, by means offour discussion groups comprised of students, former students, primary care training advisors and nursing professionals at thehospitals where the students of the school in question are doingtheir nursing training. The initial involvement employed wasindirect. Results: The comments of the nursing students and of theirtraining advisors with regard to the practice nursing during thediploma studies reveal dissatisfaction on the part of both of thesegroups. In all of the groups point out anxiety as the leadingfactor involved in their teaching as well as learning activitiesand during professional training. The lack of identification as agroup of poffesionals seems to be related to the lack of recognitionon the part of the others, the demand for a degree beinggranted for their college studies and for the setting up of specialtieswould contribute to their social recognition and, as a resultthereof, to their identification as a professional group. Conclusions: Until a solution is provided to the anxietywhich the nursing professionals feel with regard to their professionalpractice, which they pass on to their students during nursingtraining, it will not be possible to achieve a higher degreeof satisfaction with nursing training experiences either on thepart of the training advisors or on the part of the students. 2002 artículo científico 1135-5727 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=17076513 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=170 Revista Española de Salud Pública application/pdf Ministerio de Sanidad Revista Española de Salud Pública (España) Num.5 Vol.76
