- Achievement Goals and Social Goals' Influence on Physical Education Students' Fair Play Javier Fernández-Río Antonio Méndez-Giménez José A. Cecchini Carmen González de Mesa Psicología cluster approach avoidance Sportspersonship This study examined how the different achievement goal profiles (approach-avoidance to mastery or performance), and the social goals (relationship and responsibility) affect physical education students' fair play. 304 students from two different high schools participated in the study. Results revealed that performance goals positively correlated to hard play and victory, while mastery goals (approach and avoidance) positively correlated to enjoyment. Similarly, social goals (responsibility and social relation) were negatively correlated with hard play and positively with diversion. There were also found significant differences on some of these variables according to gender and sport practice besidesphysical education. Finally, a hierarchical cluster analysis uncovered three independent fair play profiles related to the other variables studied. 2012 artículo científico 1136-1034 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=17523162006 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=175 Revista de Psicodidáctica application/pdf Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea Revista de Psicodidáctica (España) Num.1 Vol.17
