A descriptive and qualitative approach was used, eliciting data through open, in-depth interviews with 11 university teachers. Results point to the scarcity of specific training for teaching practice in health, resulting in teaching-learning processes based in traditional teaching. At the same time the results show that as the teachers incorporate new knowledge, they prefer innovative and facilitating practices, improving the students’ teaching-learning process.
