MÉXICO COLONIAL Y POSCOLONIAL Adrían Gimate Welsh María Rayo Sankey García Estudios Culturales The theme of the Semiotic Inheritance in the Mexican world can be seen from a historical approach as well as a disciplinary one. In this brief essay, we have traced the influence of European Semiotics, according its manifestation in Poetics and Rethoric, above all the latter. Because of this we have examined the circulation of Rhetoric works by different authors so as to find out what authors have had a greater presence, but we have also wanted to see what countries in Europe what cities have had most influence in a Mexican neighborhood, including the beginnings of Independent Mexico.
