REFLEXIONES SOBRE LA LEGISLACIÓN Y VALORACIONES SOBRE SU IMPORTANCIA COMO PATRIMONIO CULTURAL Fanny Delgado Estudios Culturales Jujuy Patrimony historical archives This paper takes into consideration Jujuy?s public and private document files from its foundation to the present. Firstly we will refer to the historical comings an goings leading to the dispersion or disappearance of documents belonging to the present-day province of Jujuy from early times to these days. Secondly, we will analyze the legislation pertaining provincial Public Documents Files (1) and the political tendencies revealed in such legislation about the whereabouts and importance of the document sources. Thereafter, we will proceed to consider private document files existing in the province and the necessity of their cataloguing in order to appraise such documentation so that researchers and public in general could access them as valuable elements of co-operation in their approach to Jujuy?s history.
