  • SELECCIÓN DE VARIABLES MORFOAGRONÓMICAS QUE CARACTERIZAN EL COMPORTAMIENTO DEL CRECIMIENTO DEL PASTO ESTRELLA EN CONDICIONES DE PASTOREO P. P. del Pozo R. S. Herrera Dunia Chávez Lucía Fernández M. García Agrociencias growth main components Cynodon nlemfuensis morphological development The main component analysis was used to de- fine which morphoagronomic indicators can explain star grass ( Cynodon nlemfuensis ) variation through its growth and development under grazing conditions (Voisin Rational Grazing, VRG and Rotational Grazing with 12 paddocks, RG-12) in the rainy season (May-October). Matrixes of 90 rows (regrowth age between 0 and 8 weeks) and 12 columns (morphoagronomic variables) were prepared and the correlation matrixes among traits were calculated. In both management systems, the first four main components explained 81 and 80.3 % total variability for VRG and RG-12 systems, respectively, with the same weighing and arrangement of components in those systems. Dry weight, leaf, stem and dead material porcentages, internode length and diameter, total dry matter content and its components were indicators showing the highest variation on plant growth. It is advisable to take into account these variables in morphophysiological studies of this species under the conditions studied 2000 artículo científico 1819-4087 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=193232232006 es http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=1932 Cultivos Tropicales application/pdf Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas Cultivos Tropicales (Cuba) Num.1 Vol.21
