contents Documenting the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program: A Filmed Interpretation Graciela Martínez-Zalce Relaciones Internacionales activism integration migrant workers Canadian documentary Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) This article uses a qualitative content analysis to examine the documentary El Contrato (2003), directed by Korean-Canadian documentary filmmaker Min Sook Lee and produced by the Na- tional Film Board, from two complementary standpoints: first, the critical portrait it paints of the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (sawp), a partnership of governments and agro-in- dustrial firms, its social consequences, and the integration problems it presents; and second, the importance of documentary cinema in making visible and analyzing the conditions of tem- porary workers in Canada. The author concludes that this documentary’s activist strategy con- tributes to making integration easier. 2020 artículo científico 1870-3550 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=193771584005 https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1937/193771584005/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1937/193771584005/html/ https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1937/193771584005/193771584005.epub https://www.redalyc.org/journal/1937/193771584005/movil 10.22201/cisan.24487228e.2020.2.443 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=1937 Norteamérica.
