contents Desaceleración, crisis, reactivación y recesión industrial de la región Centro de México. Un largo ciclo de reestructuración del núcleo y la periferia Guillermo Olvera Julio Guadarrama Estudios Territoriales This document analyses the different phases of a restructuring cycleundergone by manufacturing industry in the Central Region of Mexicoduring the last three decades of the twentieth century. Four distinctphases can be identified: rapid growth with increasing instability from1970 to 1980; crisis and marked deindustrialization from 1980 to 1988;reactivation during the five year period from 1988 to 1993; and finally, arecessive period from 1993 to 1996. In each phase, a comparativeanalysis is carried out of the principal productive, work-related andterritorial changes experienced by the primary urban-industrial nucleusand by the regional periphery, with the aim of identifying the "winning"and "losing" industries, changes in the regional division of labour and inthe levels of industrial territorial concentration. A comprehensivereading of this cycle will enable us to identify a notorious instability inindustrial growth, which feeds intraregional differences and leads to agreater industrial territorial complexity. 2001 artículo científico 0250-7161 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=19608204 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=196 EURE application/pdf Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile EURE (Chile) Num.82 Vol.XXVII
