- Innovación y desarrollo territorial: algunos debates teóricos recientes Ricardo Méndez Estudios Territoriales Firm Innovation Economic Geography Territorial and Local Development Innovation has became, during the last decade, in a widely used concept in all kind of disciplines, consolidating the idea that a sustained innovation effort is a main factor in order to improve the competitiveness of the firms and territorial development. This paper presents the main multi-disciplinary contributions to the firm geography, exhibing next some case studies in order to characterize innovating territories, as well as the factors wich contribute to their improvement.
