- Cecal volvulus and mucocele of the appendix Vijay Naraynsingh Seetharaman Hariharan Ian Sammy Medicina Cecal volvulus appendiceal mucocele We report the case of a 75-year-old woman who presented the association of a cecal volvulus with an appendiceal mucocele. A laparotomy showed these two findings and a right hemicolectomy with an end-toend ileo-transverse colonic anastomosis was done. The role of plain radiograph and computerized tomographic imaging in the diagnosis of this entity is discussed.
