We employed a quantitative methodology, collecting data through questionnaires and obtaining 800 valid responses. The research was conducted in Blumenau, Brazil, utilizing an ordinal logistic regression to analyze the odds ratios of different groups verifying the authenticity of information before sharing it on social media. The analysis revealed that age and education are significant factors in the verification of information, while gender does not significantly influence this behavior.
