We can capture some of its effects, but we willhardly reach its essence. In what follows Iintend to delimit the most relevant aspectsthat characterize modernness, remarking, from the beginning, that several causes have been pointed to explain the birth of themodern world. Some people underline the importance of social and economic transformations; others, emphasize the rise of a new vision on man and history; othersaccentuate secularization and the new process of rationalization. Perhaps the most ascertained would be to talk about intercausality.
